You can start your day by having special Nawabi breakfast at Mezban Restaurant, Hotel Shan e awadh (phone no.: 0578223586).
After breakfast, you can start your tour to one of the most historic city of Uttar Pradesh. First thing you can visit before the sun gets intense is the Chhota Calcutta. This fort was built by Shuja-ud-Daulah. The uniqueness of this fort is that each of the walls were built in clay. One of the most beautiful things to see here is the built up of various domes and minarets. They are worth watching.
After visiting Chhota Calcutta you can have a visit to the famous Gulab Bari. This is tomb of Nawab Shuja-ud-Daulah. There is a huge garden of roses and hence it is named as ‘Gulab Bari’. Also, there are fountains built near the garden to enhance its look.
After clicking some memorable pictures in the fort and Gulab bari, it will be the time for your lunch. You can have a lunch in a regular restaurant. However, Dastarkhan is one of the famous meals here. It includes various things like qorma, salan, qeema, kababs, lamb, pulao, rotis and some deserts like kheer or firni. Or you can have a simple vegetarian food at Vandana Restaurant, at Abha Hotel in Motibagh, which is around 2.4 kilometres away from Gulab Bari.
After lunch, you can again move for sightseeing at Bahu Begum ka Maqbara. This is tomb of Unmatuzzohra Bano or popularly known as Bahu Begum, wife of Shuja-ud-Daulah. This building is one of the
finest buildings of the Awadh Empire. You can click some memorable pictures here too. Next in your list should be Guptar Ghat. By the time you complete the sightseeing of the above things, it will be almost evening and hence at the evening you can enjoy the calmness, and peace in a cool atmosphere at Guptar Ghat. This holy place is located at the banks of River Sarayu, where Lord Rama took his Jal Samadhi.
One can also have a dip in the holy waters of River Sarayu. You can also visit some of the temples which are located at Guptar Ghat. If you have limited time, then you can cut down the number of temples you want to visit.
After a holy dip in the serene water, you can visit the Company gardens. Company gardens was built by the British during their rule in Faizabad. This garden opens post four in the evening. Here you can relax and spend your entire evening in the middle of the beautiful flowers and trees.
